31-Year-Old’s Death in McKinleyville “Not Considered Suspicious”

Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

hcsoOn Monday, May 2, 2016, at about 11:05 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a dead body found at a residence on the 2000 block of Park Rd in McKinleyville. Deputies and medical personnel arrived on scene, and the body was confirmed deceased. The deceased was identified as 31 year Kurt Kenneth Romero. Romero was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and stationed locally.

An autopsy was performed on Tuesday, May 3rd. Officials are waiting for toxicology reports to confirm cause of death. This death is not considered suspicious and there was no evidence of foul play.
