The Bandanna Bandits? Another Small Business Robbed by a Dastardly Duo

Recently there has been a number of small businesses robbed by a pair of white male adults wearing bandannas. Here’s one from last Friday. 201601366 2_420x280_thumb Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On Friday, March 18, 2016 at approximately 4:57 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Freeway 76 Gas Station on Murray Rd, McKinleyville. Deputies responded and spoke with a male and female victim. The male victim stated suspect #1 demanded money from the cash register while suspect #2 pointed a firearm in their direction. The male victim gave the suspects the money. The suspects fled with the money and several cartons of cigarettes. The suspects were last seen fleeing on foot east on Murray Rd.

Suspect #1 is described as a white male adult, 6’ tall, 200 lbs, wearing a light gray sweatshirt and a red bandana covering his face. Suspect #2 is described as a white male adult, 6’ tall, about 175 lbs, wearing a dark gray sweatshirt and dark pants with a dark bandana covering his face.

Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate the suspects.

Later that morning, at approximately 6:31 a.m., deputies responded to the Fairway Market on Herrick Ave, Eureka, for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. The victim stated two males robbed him at gun point. The suspects demanded cash and brandished a small firearm. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled on foot. The victim described the suspects to the deputies. The description of these suspects matched the description of the two suspects listed above.

A red bandana was found a few blocks south of Fairway Market on Herrick Ave.

Stealing cash and smokes….classic

Seeing as some folks live to blame all crime on pot, I take this opportunity to follow the same logic & blame the cigarette smokers for these crimes. (After all tobacco proven as addictive as heroin)

Why doesn’t the idiot who owns the 76 in Mckinleyville protect His employees with a night window and not be so greedy. It is proven not safe to operate there at night. The owner wants the money from the sales inside the store. No consideration for the safety of their employees is a likely lawsuit thatl the owners will lose if one of them is hurt in a robbery. Greed over worker safety.
