[UPDATE 12:11 p.m.: Power Restored] Nearly 2,600 Without Power in Arcata/McKinleyville Area

Screen Shot 2016-03-20 at 10.30.39 AMAccording to the PG & E Outage Center, 2599 customers lost power in the Arcata Area. The outage was reported at 9:48 a.m, and the cause is officially unknown at this point. PG & E estimates the power will be back on around 1:30 p.m. today.

UPDATE 11:48 a.m.: PG&E says now only 1151 customers are without power. The rest should get power at 5 p.m.

Here is their update:

The outage in your area was caused by fallen wires. If you are experiencing a hazardous situation, such as a gas leak or downed power line please call PG&E immediately at 1-800-743-5002.

At this time, this outage is affecting 1151 customers. PG&E crew members are on-site working to resolve the issue. We expect your power to be restored by Mar 20 at 5:00 pm. We will notify you when more information becomes available.

We are available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Thank you for the updates and the map.
Sure have been a lot of power outages in that area of Mckinleyville lately.
Does anyone know the cause?
