Armed Robbery This Morning at Fairway Market
At 6:31 a.m. today, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an armed robbery at the Fairway Market on Herrick Avenue. When they responded they were told that two white male adults had demanded money from the clerk. One of the two “brandished a firearm at the victim taking an undisclosed amount of cash,” according to Selena Zorilla-Mendoza, a spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
The first robber was wearing a dark gray sweatshirt and dark pants. The second was wearing a light grey sweatshirt and dark pants. Both were wearing bandannas to cover their lower face. They were last seen headed south on Meyers Avenue. Law enforcement recovered one of the bandannas a few blocks south of the market on a lawn.
If you have any information, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251.

Wholly shit!!they haven’t been robbed for a very long time.what ever happened to people just getting g a job?or is this their job sad
Employers don’t want to hire junkies. I know I have a hard time finding good laborers in this town, that I trust to hold a tool of mine….. it is pretty bad. Being a small business you can’t afford perks like benefits and 401k for part time employees.
That’s one reason our company is now one.sad
They are addicted to drugs and can’t pass a drug test to get a job.
Even if you do give them a break and hire them, many of them don’t keep the job past the first paycheck. It’s very difficult to hire reliable people for any jobs around here.
Matches the M.O. of the attempted robbers out in Blue Lake yesterday morning about the same time.
The north coast is full of drug addicts and losers, on top of that they are entitled and have zero drive whatsoever.
Cameras would be one way to fight back, but in this case with masked robbers not really the answer either, if this is a family owned business and not a corporate chain, then encourage conceived carry permits.
stop these clowns DEAD in their tracks.
It’s possible to stop drugs.been there done that.if you really want it bad enough.i just lost some one this week from a drug over dose and I can only pray that other people seek help from a horriable epidemic that’s killing Humboldt.and if know some one needs help please please reach out
