Major Injury Vehicle Vs Pedestrian Collision in Crescent City Area

chpstarA pedestrian suffered major injuries after being struck by a truck in the Crescent City area on Thursday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Teena Marie Ramsland, 58, was walking on Summer Lane near Washington Boulevard around 6:15 p.m. when she was hit by a 1990 Toyota pickup truck.

CHP reported that the driver, John Allen Gulick, 30, did not see Ramsland before crashing into her. Ramsland reportedly hit the hood of the car and the roadway during the collision. She was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital to be treated for blunt force trauma to the head.

At this point, the collision is still under investigation, and alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been an influence.

At least she could hardly have been closer to the ER when it happened. Hope she’ll be okay.
