Redwood Drive North Expected to Open Late Next Week

12631314_1135044646519819_4125725794721734046_nA failed culvert which closed Redwood Drive north of Redway on the 18th of January will “hopefully be open late next week, ” said Denton Carrick of Humboldt County Roads. Wilcox Construction is taking out the failed culvert and putting in a new one.

“Dependent on weather,” Carrick said the well-traveled county road could be available for travel by the fifth of February. Photos attached to this story (provided by Jeff Henderson) show the ongoing construction work to replace the collapsed culvert and install new pipe.

Well at least its not being replaced with plastic culvert pipe! I watched the forest service replace a ton of plastic culvert from fire this year.
