[UPDATE 5:21 p.m.] Kayaker Needs Rescue Near Hwy 36

As of 3 p.m., rescuers are making their way to the scene of a kayaker who lost his boat “one and a half miles southwest of Grizzly Creek State Park.” According to emergency dispatch, the kayaker is reportedly wearing a dry suit and has managed to get ashore but needs help.

UPDATE 4:26 p.m.: According to the scanner, the kayaker has not been located. Quads have been requested to locate the kayaker.

UPDATE 5:21 p.m.: “We have the kayaker,” reports one of the searchers to emergency dispatch. The kayaker and his rescuers are near Swimmer’s Delight.
