Screenshot of Caltrans’ Quick Map at 10:10 p.m. It shows to areas of traffic concern and multiple areas needing chains.

Hwy 36 is blocked completely approximately 41 miles east of Hwy 101 after an oak tree fell a little before 10 p.m. The tree took out electric lines and crossed the road. As of 10:24 p.m., PG&E estimates it will take them until midnight to arrive on scene.

There is another tree down across Hwy 36 approximately 31 miles east of 101. It is blocking one lane and partially blocking another, according to the California Highway Patrol Incident page.

Starting at the Van Duzen Road, there are multiple areas requiring chains to the east.

Well, as we are between the two downed trees I guess we’re not going anywhere but bed. But this is an issue for first responders, especially as air ambulance helicopters can’t fly in this weather 😕 Be safe, everyone.
