Generator, Fence and Shed on Fire in Arcata

Arcata Fire engine 8215 has just arrived at the scene of a “power line” fire. The incident, which is in the 1700 block of Iverson Avenue in the Arcata area, went out over the scanner just before 3 a.m.

The Arcata Police Department is also at the scene. They are reporting that a nearby fence is “fully engulfed” in flames. Additionally, the fire is spreading into a shed in someone’s backyard.

We will update this post when we hear more.

Update 3:12 a.m.: According to scanner traffic, the fire was started by a generator in a debris pile. The single fire engine was able to handle the incident, and PG & E has been canceled.
