[Update 12:40 p.m.] Vehicle Fire in Cutten

scannerA vehicle is on fire at the intersection of Walnut Drive and Avalon Drive in the Cutten area, according to the scanner. The incident was first reported just before 1:15 a.m.

According to the scanner, the SUV has rolled about 20 feet into the roadway.

Fire crews have just arrived at the scene. They are reporting that the fire is in the engine compartment of the vehicle.

We’ll update this post when we hear more.

Update 1:22 a.m.: The fire has been extinguished. It was unoccupied.

Update 1:25 a.m.: Fire crews are updating the location of the incident to Avalon Drive and Meadowood Lane.

Update 2:10 a.m.: The vehicle has been turned over to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
