[UPDATE 5:51 a.m.] Thousands Without Power, Trees Down, Roads Impacted During Storm

Wind and rain continue to impact northwestern California. Thousands are without power. Arcata is particularly impacted with over 7000 customers in the dark including much of Humboldt State University. Multiple roads are impacted with slides, fallen trees and power lines down.

A tree fell into a residence in the Fieldbrook area. Power lines are down as a result of that fall.

The folks at the National Weather Service posted this blustery video on their Facebook page.

UPDATE 1:33 a.m.: Fieldbrook road is blocked due to a tree down.

UPDATE 5:51 a.m.: Power has mostly be restored to customers in the Arcata area. However, over two thousand are still out in the McKinleyville area alone.
