High Winds Continue Until Afternoon (Power Out to Thousands)
Wind is whipping through the county, particularly the northern half, this morning and is predicted to continue into the afternoon. The National Weather Service said on their Facebook page this morning,
Strong winds will continue through the afternoon today, but should diminish as a cold front passes through the area. Here are some peak wind gusts so far, including a 62 mph gust near Kneeland between 4 and 5 AM. Also, get ready for the rain, as it will more onshore soon and continue through the day.
Power is out to thousands of customers. See map below for an overview or click on this link to be taken to an interactive map that provides information on each area.
The Weather Service warns that “messy weather” will continue through Friday.
