Rain is coming tonight and sticking around into Friday, according to the National Weather Service who provided the above graphic on their Facebook page.

They warn that multiple storm systems

… are forecast to impact Northwest California starting tonight. The majority of the rain tonight through Wednesday will fall north of Mendocino County. The most potent system of the week will move through the region on Thursday bringing widespread rain to the entire area, gusty south winds, and the possibility of hail showers beginning Thursday afternoon through early Friday morning. Additional systems will bring chances for rain this weekend into next week. Correcto-mundo. And last season, totally, had more rain than the year before for Humboldt, but still inadequate. Keep hoping, but so far, not good.

Where the hell have you been? 10 inches since September? Ridiculous. Maybe 6 inches at woodley Island since July. We’re still desperate. The creeks are clear and low and salmon are floundering. Log off the damn computer and go look at a river. Are you even in California?

The big-deal rain last night (12-1) put another quarter inch on top of the other quarter inch. BFD. Better rain tonight.

The salmon are in the south fork near Benbow now, despite the shallow water. But, we DO need lots more water!

Please explain. Are you new? What makes you think this is the real winter yet? Talk to us in the spring if we get plenty of rain. So far, this ain’t it. Everybody talks rain and we get almost nothing. Still in a major drought.

6.75 inches near Blocksburg as measured by a rain guage. That’s a drop in the bucket compared to what we need, but last year San Francisco received less than 4 inches of rain, so we’ve got more than that already. Give thanks, and hopefully the rain in Spain falls mainly on the Emerald Triangle.

Yeah, but SF gets maybe half the rain we get in any average year. That’s why this is a mega-drought.
