Finding Masala: A Community Gathers to Search
Yesterday, zoo officials requested the public’s help in finding the missing animal. “We are relying on the public to help us locate her – by keeping eyes open and cell phones at the ready,” explained Zoo Manager Gretchen Ziegler.
Folks began showing up at 8:30 to help but there is another gathering at 10 a.m. Sooo, there is still time to get there and sign up. Bundle the kids up warmly, bring your cell phone and a desire to help.
UPDATE 11:16 p.m.: Sequoia Park Zoo posted on their Facebook about 10:30 a.m. today, “Masala our red panda is still on her ‘walkabout’. Please keep your eyes open … especially around bamboo. She eats between 2 and 4 pounds of bamboo a day. Maybe she is eating your bamboo!”

Our community is awsome!!!
I have to come to this site on a permanent basis now that the teabagger trolls have fully invaded loco.
Clinton, you must be one of those ” tolerant” liberals I hear so much about;-)
I just have a hard time believing that there is not a single bloodhound in HUmboldt county law enforcement. They could have found that animal on the first day. Instead they have attack dogs to savage people and do dangerous work in place of the humans who can actully understand the implications of what they are doing.
Lol, As a Bloodhound handler with decades of experience. You do not have an elementary level concept as to how LE Bloodhounds work or what they are trained to find. Sorry but I do not believe you would find any LE agency Bloodhound Handler that would even attempt this type of search as it is directly counter to thier training.
Are they considering that someone might have stolen her?
