8:02 a.m., a local reports on our Google board that the road is open again. Thanks, Kym.
Why isn’t this road called Bull Creek Rd. My family settled in the Mattole Valley in the 1860’s. Having been in the valley the past 70 years I have always known this road to be Bull Creek Rd. The Mattole Rd runs from Ferndale to Honeydew with the road south from Honeydew being Wilder Ridge Rd.
Old time locals call the road between Honeydew and 101 through the state park the Bull Creek Road. I think the county overlooked this name. HVFC refers to it as such. When names change, confusion sets in.
