Did You Hear It? Humboldt’s Got Lightning

Screen Shot 2015-11-09 at 12.12.46 AM

Facebook feeds are lighting up with reports of thunder in the Humboldt area. Even the scanner is reporting “a fair bit of lighting in the area.” If you’re interested in checking out a “real-time” map of the lightning strikes, we recommend clicking this link. We’re not seeing much activity in the Humboldt at the moment, but Del Norte County appears to be getting quite the light show off the coast. Oh, and don’t forget to turn your sound on.

UPDATE 12:40 a.m.: The National Weather Service has been sending out these tweets about the thunderstorms.

I didn’t get any hail… unless my ears were deceiving me… but there were about five hours there with lots and lots of rolling thunder and right after this was posted the light show got pretty good.
