Chemical Release Evacuation Drill

fortuna policeThe Public Works Department, in cooperation with the Fortuna Police and Fire Departments will be conducting a training drill for chemical release evacuations on Wednesday, November 11th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be police and fire response to the Wastewater Treatment Facility on Dinsmore Drive. Automobile traffic may be stopped as a precaution at the intersections of 12th street, Dinsmore Dr and Riverwalk Dr. FPD dispatch will be announcing the drill and there will be radio traffic during the drill. All businesses along Dinsmore Dr. will not affected by the drill, and will be in normal operation, unless they are closed for the Veteran’s Day holiday.

For safety reason drills like this are nessessery.Just sad that there’s so many very bad chemicals around yikes.
