Banana Slug Eating Mushroom…It May Sound Gross But It’s Really Cool

Some people listen to the sound of the ocean to relax but perhaps you’re the sort of nature nut that would rather watch this mesmerizing clip of a slug devouring its meal.

In this video, Kim Cabrera, local naturalist, takes us up close to a part of nature we might never see or at least we never take the time to really observe

Cabrera who videotaped this banana slug nomming down on a mushroom tells us that the slimy creatures help “decompose the fungi in the forest and clean up other debris.”

And….the watching the slug is oddly relaxing.
