Pizza Delivery Vehicle Flies off Freeway and Lands in Driveway

mc2 At 6:06 p.m., a Westside Pizza Delivery vehicle drove off the freeway and into the driveway of the old homeless shelter in Arcata.

Mark McKenna, local journalist, was on the scene soon after. He spoke to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Campbell. According to Campbell, the driver was heading southbound just north of the Samoa exit when he swerved right in order to avoid a collision. The vehicle struck a  light pole and went off the freeway into the loading area of the Arcata house annex.

The driver is okay and, McKenna says, the driver was returning from his deliveries.

No buildings or pizzas were injured in the crash…

This whole 30-minutes-or-it’s-free delivery mandate is getting out of hand! 😉

Glad this is a story everyone involved will be able to laugh about… eventually! =)
