Two New Hires in the Humboldt County DA’s Office Funded by Measure Z

Press release from the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office:

District AttorneyTwo people started work today in the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office: Deputy District Attorney Nina Elisseou and District Attorney Investigator Gary Cooper. Measure Z is funding both positions.

Ms. Elisseou will be handling a misdemeanor caseload. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the American University Washington College of Law. She has 1 year of experience prosecuting misdemeanors in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

Mr. Cooper will work with other investigators in the District Attorney Criminal Investigations Bureau, which conducts independent criminal investigations, assists local law enforcement with investigations, and supports Deputy District Attorneys in their prosecution efforts. Mr. Cooper is a Humboldt County native with 24 years of law enforcement experience with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department and the Eureka Police Department, including investigative assignments and services as a Field Training Officer. He also has law enforcement experience as a First Sergeant in the 870th Military Police Company of the California National Guard.

Mr. Cooper is one hell of a great guy and one hell of a cop. I’m sorry EPD Lost him….. Another great officer off the streets of Eureka. Good job Chief Mills….
