Local Family in Running to Win Money for Themselves and Lafayette Elementary School

Press release from a local family:

Jadon Wickizer is asking for your help to win money for his family and his school.

The Wickizer family, residents of Eureka, California, have entered the UNCLE BEN’S® Brand Ben’s Beginners™ Cooking Contest, a program to encourage children to make healthier meal choices by getting them interested in cooking at an early age. The contest aims to empower parents to connect with their children one meal at a time and make cooking an enjoyable activity that brings families together.

Parents with children who are in Kindergarten through eighth grade submitted a three-minute home video showing the family together in the kitchen cooking a rice-based dish and discussing their experience cooking together. The contest received hundreds of entries from families across the United States.

The Wickizer family is asking the community to vote for the video they submitted titled Jadon’s Easy Spanish Rice at unclebens.com. Video votes are a measure to name the Top 25 finalists in the contest. To watch and vote for the Wickizer family’s video, please visit https://www.unclebens.com/ben’s- beginners/gallery and search for “Jadon” or “Easy Spanish Rice.” If selected as a one of the five Grand Prize winners the Wickizer family will receive $15,000 cash and a $30,000 cafeteria makeover for Lafayette Elementary School.

From October 15 through November 3, 2015, individuals can view all the contest videos and vote for their favorite by visiting unclebens.com and searching for the recipe name. Individuals are encouraged to vote once per 24 hours. For more information on the Ben’s Beginners™ Cooking Contest, visit unclebens.com.

Will vote for it, but the healthy choices don’t include GMO rice.

Hope they can get the corporate dough, fix the kitchen, and not serve poison to small children through GMO rice.

You know that the GMO plan is to put vaccines in the food?

Logan’s Run is coming soon.

There is no such thing as GMO rice yet on the market, but I would agree that this recipe is not healthy made with instant white rice, all the fat from cheese AND bacon, and no veggies (tomatoes are really a fruit). Kudos for dad and son being in the kitchen together though, and I hope they had a good time making the video.

It was tough finding the right place so here’s the link to it. This video is pretty cute! I don’t know Jadon, but he looks like he’s on his way to being a great chef one day.
