UPDATE 7:51 a.m.: Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.

On 09-08-2015 at 7:00 p.m. the missing person Fleek used a pay phone at the Safeway store in Arcata to call the Arcata Police Department. Fleek had heard it on the news that she was reported as a missing person. The Arcata Police Department then contacted Fleek and gave her a courtesy ride to Eureka.

  • I think you are talking about Celeste Fleek. Her first name was misspelled.

  • Wishing her safety. I hope she comes back home unharmed.

  • Celeste Fleek here…this whole scenario has been a sadly communicated correspondence of information. What if I actually had been a missing person, and all the critical information in the article which was inaccurate and misspelled, like this one about me (food for thought for the writer)… however, thank you so much for the efforts to all the men, women, and K9’s that participated in the efforts to find me-you are all appreciated. That must have been an expensive effort based on false information.

*Domestic Violence Awareness Month is coming up soon…support Humboldt Domestic Violence Services, in Eureka…”You are not alone.” Wear a purple ribbon in support.

*The term Domestic Violence is becoming better known as Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and falls into several catagories: physical, emotional/psychological, property, financial, and sexual.
