Fire on West Coast Road in Redway Contained

According to Laura Coleman from Cal Fire, multiple structures were threatened by a fire in the West Coast Road area of Redway around 11 a.m. today. Redway and Garberville Fire departments as well as Cal Fire responded quickly to the scene and were able to contain the blaze to less than a 1/2 acre. “A full wildland response was called,” said Coleman but the quick response by full crews allowed the aircraft to be cancelled. The cause is under investigation and crews will be in the area mopping up until two or three p.m.
