[UPDATE 3:15 p.m. Fires Nearly Contained] Fire Has Traffic at ‘Standstill’ Through Willits

Caltrans District 1 has posted on their Facebook page that a brush fire near Willits has traffic at a standstill!

UPDATE 3 p.m.: CHP Dispatch is reporting that smoke is “AFFECTING VISUAL.” Red marker is the latitude and longitude given for that report.

UPDATE 3:08 p.m.:

Photos tweeted to us from Melissa McKinnon. The first shows the traffic jam.  The second shows a hint of the smoke behind the Willits’ sign.

UPDATE 3:15 p.m.: Mendocino Sheriff’s Facebook page says the Willits Fires (note: more than one) were caused by lightning strikes,
