Woman Found Dead in Jail Passed Away of Natural Causes Say Mendocino Sheriff’s Office

According to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department, a female inmate who died in custody on April 10 of this year passed away of natural causes. The woman, 59-year-old Gloria Ann Burgess of Ukiah, had been housed in cell by herself. The Sheriff’s Department says she had last been seen sleeping about 40 minutes before she was discovered unresponsive.
