County Wide BOLO For Possible Kidnapped Woman

According to Tim Cooper the acting Watch Commander for the Eureka Police Department this Sunday morning, a countywide alert was issued by his department for a possible female kidnap victim. At approximately 9:40 p.m. Saturday evening, two separate individuals called 911 reporting that a woman was being forcibly put into a vehicle.

According to the BOLO issued over the scanner, the female was screaming as she was pulled into the vehicle near the cross of California and West Del Norte  Street. She was described as in her early 20’s with a medium build. The two separate witnesses variously described the vehicle as a dark Suburban or a light colored Jeep.

Cooper says, that he personally drove around looking for a suspicious vehicle that matched either of those two descriptions. He said he looked everywhere he could think of but didn’t find the victim. “If this is legit, it doesn’t seem like they want to be found.”

Unfortunately, he said, “We don’t have any information to say whether it is not credible or it is just a very suspicious call.”

According to the issued BOLO, if an officer locates a vehicle similar to the ones described, they should stop it and check on the welfare of any woman inside. If a civilian sees a similar vehicle in a suspicious circumstance such as parked in a normally deserted area, they should call law enforcement, Cooper said.

CaptureCooper says he doesn’t know if this was a prank or an actual kidnapping. “We don’t have enough information to say whether it is not credible or it is.”

I heard what sounded like 3 pistol shots in that area, California and West Del Norte Street, then a car raced off just about the time you posted this article. I was thinking “Gee, I’m glad I don’t live near the Hiway tonight.”

Humboldt county has rampant crime in our urban areas due to an increase in heroin and meth on the streets. Why spend millions on marijuana raids in the hills when letters of non-complinance, fines, and liens against the property owners could a accomplish the same thing. Obviously the mega-grows need to go but how many man hours are spent on “zero tolerance” towards marijuana while heroin and meth fester in the cities.

Heroin and meth dealers are usually more dangerous than pot growers, esp mom n pop scene, and they often have little cash or items worthy of seizure. Its not a judgement on the cops, it’s just the way it all works these days. They make money off their police auctions, esp when they seize heavy equipment and properties. If we had a huge cocaine problem, the cops would be busting them becuz that group tends to have money as well.
Meth manufacturing is so toxic that it really is dangerous for cops to bust&clean up. There are also bath salts and even newer concoctions out there that are making people crazy. Its all over the country, look at map of areas with huge meth problems; it tends to be a lot of small towns that have lost their local industry to big biz. Think of Rio dell after Maxxam did their cut and run.

I agree totally with gost town cause and effect it almost seems like cops don’t want to go after the crank makers ,and heroin dealers if they busted a quarter of them would make difference can’t remember when there has been a news article saying meth lab busted whoops I guess they’re never have yet

several yrs ago it was announced that funding to clean up meth labs was stopped. it is so damn expensive to deal with everything that goes along with these sites, mainly hazardous chemical wastes and getting rid of it …and sooo…

immediately lo stopped their efforts to find and dismantle these meth labs, or to find and dismantle the meth dealers sales. and so meth became a non-issue with lo.

i actually think lo ignores these meth addicts and assume these leagues of addicts can police each other in their cliques. when they kill each other it’s just another dead meth head.
lost in this bullshit are the victims of the meth heads.

personally i see dealers plugging along, they seem to be idiots. they take in a lot of stolen goods, only encouraging their consumers to steal, rob and lie more.

then i see the meth users. they are thieves, liars, crazy con-artists and they need not fear consequences for any of their behaviors. not from police and not from the people they steal from. always entitled, always getting over, over and over and over.

nope, no $$ in dope.

yup, lots of $$$$$$$$$$ in herb raids, $$ both coming and going.

The Vallejo police decided that a kidnap claim was bogus and did not investigate. Turned out they were WRONG. The FBI got involved and now there is hell to pay. Eureka has a very poor track record. I hope they get on the ball with this one and no one turns up dead or harmed because this was not taken seriously.

On Monday I was walking down Fairfield st right there by winco .I was walking to pick my daughter up from.school at winzler around 3pm a black older Toyota pickup truck that was faded so it looked more like a charcoal black with a white camper shell on it pulled over next to me it was a white male bald possibly in his late 40s. Chunky guy. He tried to call me over to him and I didn’t know who he was so I kept walking .and he yelled something out to me sounding like he said come here and I didn’t look back I just walked faster .and he pulled up further up the road from me and tried to get me to go with him and I told him that idk what kind of idea your getting from me but if your thinking I’m some kind of hooker or something well I’m not look at how I’m dressed I’m walking to get my kid.so f××× off and go the f××× away I told him and he didn’t and I needed to cross the street and he was like half way out of his truck and thank god a black suv was driving and once they got close to where I was I think they must have saw the look on my face and that man hanging out of his truck and they stopped right next to his truck and he saw that they were not leaving so he took off and I was able to cross the street then that suv left too. It was really kinda scary .,the guy was big and I have a feeling that if that suv wouldn’t have stopped that guy would have probably just followed me until he saw a chance to try n grab me .and there’s no way I would have been able to get away .he looked big ..definitely an eye opener for sure .I’m always cautious about who’s around me and if anyone is following me I always have headphones in my ears but only one side so that I can hear what’s going on around me ..females especially need to beware of your surroundings when your out and about by yourself. .people are crazy
