Mendocino CHP Seeks Red Pickup Involved in Fatal Crash, Offers More Details

On the afternoon of 07-12-2015, Jacob Aaron Howard was riding his bicycle South of Fort Bragg, Ca on SR-1 S/B, south of Boice Lane, on the S/B shoulder when a vehicle collided into him. Jacob Aaron Howard was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Ukiah California Highway Patrol is investigating this collision and is asking for help from the public. A witness to the collision has identified a red pickup truck, possibly with a black tonneau cover over the bed of the truck, as the suspected vehicle. The suspected vehicle should have damage to the right headlight and front bumper. The suspected vehicle fled the scene traveling S/B on SR-1 and may have turned onto Fern Creek Road. Sad to hear this. What do you know about Jacob Aaron Howard? Was he a child, an adult? Local or one of the many tourist that tour that road?
He was a 36-year-old Fort Bragg resident.
