A two car garage caught fire this morning. “We received the call at 4:57 a.m.,” explained Redway Volunteer Fire Department chief, Brian Anderson.
Redway and Garberville Fire, both responded as did Cal Fire to 39 Apple Lane in Redway. Anderson said that four engines and 13 firefighters were able to save the nearby home. “We prevented it from spreading to the adjacent building,” Anderson said.

“We don’t know what caused the fire,” the fire chief stated. However, since this was Humboldt, he answered the next question without waiting for it. “It was not a grow. It was just a regular fire.”

Thanks, crews, for jumping out of bed to respond. We appreciate you.

CAUTION: There is still fire hose stretched across Briceland Road and Apple Lane. Please slow down driving through that area.

UPDATE: Road cleared!
