Woman Owned Business Gets $500 Grant

Another woman owned business was given a $500 grant by Humboldt Women this June. Every month this new organization provides a similar sized sum to one or more lucky women owned businesses.

Congratulations to Hannah Campbell of Eureka Grocery Delivery for winning June’s grant!

Eureka Grocery Delivery is helping to keep basic needs shopping more accessible to segments of Humboldt‘s population who might need a bit more assistance from time to time. “I deliver groceries in the day and restaurant delivery at night. Any grocery store, any restaurant,” says Hannah. “I bring the luxuries of the big city to Eureka! Not only luxury, but livelihood to our elders. Many of my customers live alone and don’t have family near by. I am one more visit per week, a couple of bag of fresh produce and meats. When you live all alone there is great comfort and entertainment from delicious foods and I’m happy to serve our elders this way.”

Humboldt Women is proud to assist with the awarding of our grant. For its fourth go-around,Humboldt Womenconsidered just under ten new applicants who submitted their mission statements and specific needs that $500 would help them meet. “I’m running low on my reusable grocery bags and I need more printed. It costs $511.95 to get 300 bags printed with our logo and phone number on one side,” Hannah said.

Each month Humboldt Women will give out at least one $500 grant to a women in business. Both startups and established businesses are eligible to apply. Businesses wishing to be considered for the grant need only fill out a short questionnaire and submit an entry fee of $20. The deadline for submissions is the 25th of each month.
