Breaking News: Vehicle Accident, Woman With Baby Crashes Off ‘100 Foot Cliff’

scannerAccording to CHP dispatch, at approximately 5:10 p.m. a vehicle containing a woman with a seven-week-old baby went off a cliff described as being 100 foot tall near Hoopa. Over the scanner, the dispatcher described an injured woman with a baby crying in the background.

The accident involved a vehicle headed northbound on Hwy 96. The vehicle left the road south of Hoopa near Vista Point.

Details are difficult to discern but a man has apparently reached the crying child but the woman is injured and unable to move. Emergency crews are headed to the scene.

Caution: details in breaking news stories are often not as first reported. We’ll be following and update as soon as possible.

UPDATE 5:56 p.m.: CHP has updated the story with the information that there were only “minor injuries.”
