Southern Humboldt Eaglet Getting Bigger
We’ve been watching the SoHum eaglet grow for over a month now. Nestlings grow phenomenally fast. As a tiny hatchling, the chick weighs just a few ounces when born, but the average eaglet gains roughly a pound a week—meaning this one is likely to weigh in at close to five pounds now.
