POP Locates Marijuana and Stolen Property, Suspects Arrested
According to Brittany Powell of the Eureka Police Department:
On 05/12/15 at about 10:31 a.m., detectives with the Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP), served a search warrant at an apartment complex at the 1600 block of 3rd Street in response to complaints of suspicious activity. Detectives located marijuana and suspected stolen property. Five subjects were arrested: Curtis Meyers (30), Taylor Collins (30), Lee Branstetter (45), Elisabeth Brown (34), and Robert Wilkins (58) for various drug related charges. All but Wilkins were also arrested on outstanding warrants.

Interesting to note that all but one had outstanding warrants. Warrants for what??? Why were these losers out on the loose so they could do more harm to the public in the first place?
I am quite sure there are a few places in town if they tried to rob or burglarize that the coroner would be picking them up – literally. That would remove them from the problem list permanently. Imagine that.
Unless you’re talking citizens doing something so the coroner would be “picking them up,” there’s no place in California to house this kind of criminal.
I share your frustration, but warehousing them doesn’t work. What does work is drug & alcohol rehab, mental health services & job training. It’s FAR more expensive to citizens & government to put these criminals in prison. It’s more effective & cheaper to help – those who are willing to do the hard work – turn their lives around.
They could get him a job as a Charlie Manson stunt double? That would be pretty cool.
