Falling Tree Temporarily Closed the Avenue Today [Photo}

A little after 1 p.m., a large tree fell near Gould’s Bar south of Weott on the Avenue of the Giants. Sarah Parkinson who took the above photo said that she and her family were on the river bar nearby and heard the tree crack and then fall onto the road.

The roadway was closed for over three hours in both directions and a traffic accident with minor injuries occurred.
