Man Wanted for 2nd Degree Murder Arrested in Crescent City

Press release provided by Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department:

On 4-30-2015 the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Crescent City Police Department, apprehended David Wayne Turner, age 35, on a NO BAIL Warrant for Murder in the 2nd Degree. The outstanding warrant was from an incident that took place in Tacoma, Washington and the warrant was issued by the Pierce County Superior Court.

Turner was located hiding near the 1100 block of North Highway 101 and was taken into custody without incident. Homicide Detectives from the Tacoma Police Department were on scene during the apprehension and the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to assist with the investigation.

Turner is currently in custody at the Del Norte County Jail awaiting extradition to Tacoma, Washington.

The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Crescent City Police Department for their assistance in this situation; K-9 Officer A. King and Officer A. Lopez were instrumental in the apprehension of the suspect.
