Alleged Bank Robber in Critical Condition After He Tried to Hang Himself This Morning
According to Lt. Wayne Hanson of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department, Benaiah Stephen Tabbytite, age 33 of Eureka, who was arrested yesterday evening for allegedly robbing two local banks and allegedly attempting to conceal over an ounce of heroin in his groin area, attempted to hang himself today at the County Jail.
Hanson said that Tabbytite was discovered by a correctional officer at 10:57 a.m. during a normal check. The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. There he is being guarded because of the nature of the crimes he is alleged to have committed.

On 04-30-2015 at about 10:57 a.m. a Senior Correctional Deputy was conducting normal routine cell checks inside the Humboldt County Correctional Facility when he discovered an inmate hanging by his neck with a bed sheet in his cell. The Correctional Deputy immediately called for assistance from medical staff and other Correctional Deputies.
The inmate was immediately removed from the hanging bed sheet and first aid was immediately rendered by medical staff. Correctional staff called 9-1-1 and the Eureka Fire Department and an ambulance responded to the Correctional Facility. The inmate was transported by an ambulance to a local hospital under guard by a Correctional Deputy.
The inmate has been identified as 33 year old, Benaiah Stephen Tabbytite, who was arrested yesterday by the Eureka Police Department for two bank robberies in Eureka. Tabbytite bail was set at $230,000 dollars.
Tabbytite is currently in critical condition at a local hospital. This incident is being investigated by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office. Tabbytite was housed in a two man cell by himself.

Ironic. Oregon has decided that if you face a year or two of severe suffering you may willfully self-destruct with no blowback from the heat; in fact there are a slew of doctors that will let you have the drugs it takes to get it done.
BUT, this guy is facing 20 years of serious suffering (bank robbery is still a fed beef) and now they will probably add attempted suicide onto his charge sheet. HHhhhmmmmm?
I have not heard of that but it could be true do you have any sites that could verify Oregon law letting suicides take place for reasons such as this, I would like to read them.
