Witness to Alleged Fatal Drunk Driving Speaks Up

On March 31, William Larry Morris of Fortuna, allegedly under the influence of both alcohol and drugs, drove off Hwy 101 just north of Arcata resulting in the death of his two female passengers.

John Chiv received a letter from a person who said they were a witness to the accident. He excerpted portions of the letter and published the sections on his blog, Words Worth. The alleged witness is descriptive and gripping. The witness says at one point, “The thing that will forever stand out in my head is that the scene was absolutely silent. Besides the noises of the cars on 101, there were no screams or moans. Just Mr. Morris yelling incoherent things.”

The witness’s account is published in two parts, first here and then here.
