Pedestrian Hit by Bus Friday in Fatal Collision Identified

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 27, 2015 at about 11:30 AM there was an accident involving a transit bus and a pedestrian near the intersection of Fifth and O Street, Eureka. The pedestrian was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The involved pedestrian was eventually declared deceased as a result of those injuries. The deceased subject has been identified as Thomas William Rice, age 35, of Eureka. The Eureka Police Department is the lead agency in this investigation. All further information related to this investigation will be released through their agency.
