[UPDATED] 101 Netlink Disabled by High Winds–Much of Southern Humboldt Without Internet

UPDATE 2/8: According to a spokesperson for 101 Netlink, the majority of the customers are back online as of about 8:30 last night. Forty-eight customers are still without internet connection, however. These customers are located in the Salmon Creek/Chapman Ranch area.

High winds last night have disabled 101 Netlink’s infrastructure on Pratt Mountain and service is not expected to be restored until Monday.  A call to the service results in the following message:

“101 Netlink is currently experiencing a major outage in the Southern Humboldt/Northern Mendocino County area. Our estimated time of restoration is by Monday morning. Hopefully, the weather will give us time to work on the severe damage that has occurred due to high winds on Pratt Mountain…We will update this message by Saturday evening.”

The company is the largest fixed wireless service in Humboldt County. (See County broadband study here.)
