Young Woman Found Dead of Gunshot Wounds on Rural Road Near Covelo

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Press Release:

On 05-25-2014 at 7:14 AM the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office was contacted after a motorist found a deceased female adult laying in the roadway in the 78000 block of Hopper Lane in Covelo, California.

The motorist reported the female adult’s body appeared to have a gunshot wound to the torso.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed the presence of the deceased female adult who appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds to her body.

Sheriff’s Detectives were summoned to the scene and began a follow up investigation resulting in the female adult being identified as Rosalena Bell Rodriguez [age 21] of Covelo, California.

A forensic autopsy has been tentatively scheduled for 05-27-2014 and Sheriff’s Detectives are continuing their investigation into incident.
