Tell the Supes What You Think about the General Plan Update

Commenting on the General Plan Update (GPU) is now as easy as clicking a button. Citizens no longer need to wade through multiple layers of screens to submit a public comment to the Board of Supervisors. The County of Humboldt Planning & Building Department invites the public to comment on the GPU on the front page of the plan website at planupdate.org with an easily identifiable public comment button that opens an email preaddressed to Michael Richardson, the lead staff person involved. 

“We are trying to make participation in the General Plan Update as simple and easy as possible to encourage public involvement,” said Michael Richardson, Senior Planner for the County’s Planning Division. 

Once comments are submitted, they will go to the Board of Supervisors, be placed in the web-based meeting record, and be displayed on the GPU website under the “Public Comments” web page. The process has been streamlined to remove layers of information that were between the website and users trying to submit comments.
