EPD: Parents of Child Burned in Hashish Lab Fire Arrested

Eureka Police Dept. Press Release:

Detectives from the Eureka Police Department Criminal Investigations Section were assisted by Agents from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force in securing a search warrant for the residence where the fire occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday August 8 3, 2013.

Based upon the evidence located at the scene coupled with statements obtained from parties, it appears that this fire was the result of an illegal Hashish Laboratory.

Two suspects involved in this investigation have been arrested by officers of the Eureka Police Department. They are:

Andrea Marie Ruiz-Guerrero, 19 yrs old of Eureka.

Logan Danny Oneal Hughes, 21 yrs old of Eureka. 

Both suspects were arrested on two counts of felony child endangerment and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. 

There is no update on the condition of the Victim child at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are expected to be filed in this investigation. Information will be released as the investigation proceeds.
