Trinity Co. Sheriff’s Office Seizes $50,000 from Vehicle on Hwy 299

Trinity Co. Sheriff’s Office Press Release:

On July 20, 2013 at approximately 11:50 pm the California Highway Patrol made a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 299 west of Helena. A Trinity County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit was requested and arrived on scene of the traffic stop and conducted a search of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the framing of the quarter panel where $50,000 is U.S. currency was located in a heat seal bag. Also during the search of the vehicle Officers located three large duffle bags in the vehicle. The currency was seized by the Trinity County Narcotics Task Force as it is suspected that it was to be used for the purchase of controlled substances. [Isaac James Walker, age 33, of South Lake Tahoe] was released pending an ongoing investigation.
