Report of Robbery Attempt Leads to Arrest

Eureka Police Dept Press Release:

On 03/08/13, officers from the Eureka Police Department were dispatched to an attempted robbery report in the 3400 block of Summer St. Their investigation led them to a residence rented by David Cory Lyman. While speaking to Lyman, officers observed indications of an indoor Marijuana growing operation.

Based on information gathered, a search warrant was written and served on Lyman’s residence. Officers located and seized nearly an ounce of Hashish, over 700 Marijuana plants, and over 60 lbs of Marijuana “Shake” (used in the Hashish making process).

Lyman (age 37) was taken into custody and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sales, and Maintaining a Residence for Sales and Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

An investigation into the original report of an attempted robbery was conducted, but it was determined no crime had been committed.
