Three Fires Burn Near Weitchpec

UPDATE:8:53 A.M.: fires are now 14 acres & 90% contained.

UPDATE:7:50 P.M.: The fires near the community of Weitchpec (Humboldt County) are now 14 acres & 70% contained.

Cal Fire is reporting that “[f]irefighters are battling 3 fires totaling 10 acres off Hwy 96 near the community of Weitchpeck [sic].” The area northeast of Eureka is remote.
