16,465 Pot Plants Found on Private Timber Land in Sprowel Creek

Okay, you probably heard the rumors in town today.  Big bust out Sprowel Creek Rd.  Here’s what the Sheriff’s dept. has to say.

Humboldt Co Sheriff’s Press Release:

Acting on information from the public, early this morning the Community Response Unit (CRU),and the Special Weapons and Tactics team (SWAT) responded to a report of a large outdoor marijuana cultivation. The site was located about 4.5 miles from Garberville on Sprowel Creek Rd. This location was discovered to be on private timber lands. Once on scene, deputieslocated 4 suspects who fled the area on foot. Deputies searched the area, and were unable to locate the suspects. 16,465 marijuana plants were located along with 4 different campsites.

The incident is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the
Sheriff’s office at 707-445-7251.
