Humboldt's First Baby of 2012 has Roots Across the County

Baby Blackwell

Born at 8:03 A.M. on New Year’s Day, Baby Blackwell was the first Humboldt Co. infant born this year. His parents, Zainna Harmoush (19) and Tristan Blackwell (21) of Weott, haven’t yet decided what to call him. Appropriately enough, the little guy has family across this county.  His grandfather, artist Mykol Blackwell lives near Whitethorn. His mother’s mother is Karol Andersson, former editor/publisher of the Southern Humboldt newspaper, the Independent.  She is currently living in the north of the county and is Director of Marketing at Carlson Wireless Technologies.

Other local members of the family are Aimee Arnold, Zainna’s mom. Mary Hand (Fortuna) is Zainna’s Grandma, and David Arnold, (Miranda) is her Grampa!  And, of course, Baby Blackwell’s two year old sister, Anora, lives her parents in Weott.

The baby was 8lbs and .9 ounces. Welcome to Humboldt, little guy.
