Fire Crews Conquering Ruth Lake Fire

Fire Evacuation Order for Ruth was lifted at 9 am Sept 26th (today.)  The fire is still burning near the town of Ruth in the Six Rivers and Shasta-Trinity National Forests.

Facts:

The Ruth Fire is currently at 1,515 acres and spreading very slowly due to the rain we had yesterday morning.  It has “spread over South Fork Mountain ridgeline…”

“Power has been restored and mail delivery will resume in the area.”

Fuels Involved Fire started in grass and brush;now is in closed timber and long-needle litter.
Fire Behavior Smoldering and creeping with most burning restricted in the heavy fuels(100 and 1000)due to yesterday’s precipitation and nightime humidity recoveries.
Significant Events The community of Ruth evacuations will be lifted this morning. Portions of County Road 504 remain closed. An emergency forest closure was put into effect for South Fork Mtn area near the fire.
