Eureka Man Arrested on Charges of Soliciting Sex with a Minor

District Attorney Press Release:

Yesterday at 3:10 p.m., Humboldt County District Attorney (HCDA) Investigators arrested William Everett Carlson, 68, of Eureka, for contact with a minor for a lewd purpose, attempted child molestation, sending sexual content to a minor and arranging a meeting with a minor for a lewd purpose.

The arrest was the result of an HCDA Investigative Bureau undercover sting operation that was prompted by Carlson’s attempt to solicit sex from minors using the Internet.

Following the arrest, Carlson’s vehicle and motor home were impounded, a search warrant was served and evidence was collected related to the charges.

“This investigation was a part of an ongoing effort to keep Humboldt County children safe from sexual predators who utilize the internet to further their criminal activities,” said HCDA Chief Investigator
