Breaking News: Ruth Fire –Evacuations

A fast spreading fire at Ruth is currently consuming around 200 acres. According to KRCR News,

The fire is burning in about 5 miles south of Ruth Lake and broke out some time before 12:45 p.m. As of 3:00 p.m., the fire had grown to about 200 acres.Evacuations are underway along Mad River Road and near Horse Ridge Lookout.Mad River Rd. is closed at points near Upper River Road and Brown Camp Road.The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office is urging people to go to the Mad River Ranger District on Highway 36.

UPDATE: LOCO has great info. 500 acres and entire town evacuated.

  • My friend Seth was on Pratt and saw this fire shortly after it broke out. He said it was a huge break-out and it was definitely fire. He called me to find out what I knew. I was dumb, so thanks for the heads up. Another fine Scoop! How do you do it???
