Gingers Can't Get Bred

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVN_0qvuhhw]

I’ve always loved being a redhead (With the possible exception of the time I, a mere teenager, was in the Santa Rosa mall and couple of bad boys followed me around singing the theme song to Big Red Chewing gum.) But now my kind is facing a prejudice of epic proportions.  Redheads can’t get bred.  Yep, that is right.  The largest sperm bank in the world is no longer accepting sperm from redheads or gingers as we are called in some places.  Well, world, you won’t have us carrot tops to kick around much longer if you keep this up.

Gingers Unite!  Our theme song is already written.  Click on the YouTube above for humor with a dash of ginger.

We have a huge legacy of Gingers in our family. The world would be a dark and dreary place without them. Perhaps it’s time for the Gingers of the world to unite.

You and Kevin are doing a great job of preserving the gene… thanks.
My grandfather was a redhead and it didn’t pop up again until my grandniece, his great great granddaughter. He is the only possibility in her lineage.

This is priceless Kym. Im a proud color-not-found-in-nature redhead, but I think I’ll refrain from using the G word, now. Thanks for the song and the heads-up!

I am the only red head in my family and when I was a kid folks thought I belonged to the Morgan family who lived around the corner and had red headed children. This was handy when one neighbor went to report my activities of the day to ‘my mother’, Mrs Morgan.

Read the following link about hair color and genetics. Absolutly fascinating. I agree, redhair will never disappear.

An uptick in solat activity could force gingers to move underground and only emerge at night.

Or stay by their computer 24/7…Oh, wait, isn’t that what I do anyway?

I recall back when my beard was fiery red. Up at a Rainbow Gathering in the U.P. Michigan it just happened some Reds were together in the big circle at dinner. We started spotting Reds as people came toward the circle. Soon all the Spotted Reds Selected By Their Fellow Reds were together in an arc of this great big circle of humans. We ended with a big loud chant ‘Red Loves You!!!!’

Nice, Jennifer!
Ireland is still interested in redheaded “baby batter”… so at least there is a sanctuary for gingers somewhere in the world. How come when you get grey on top, but you tell people that the redcarpet doesn’t match the drapes… no one really wants to know?

Humboldt certainly isn’t lacking in ginger genes! My husband and I (both redheads) frequently remark upon how many fellow redheaded Humboldters there are. We’re everywhere! I think it’s the moist, damp fog that lends itself to a suitable environment for us. I have two daughters with bright orange hair and I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t want a ginger baby!
